In 1799, there was the Anglo-Russian invasion of Holland. The British and Russians wanted to free the Netherlands of the French during the Second Coalition War, and restore the stadholder. But they failed.

What if…
But what if in an alternate timeline, the Anglo-Russian invasion was succesfull and the Netherlands was liberated. What would have happened?

It gets invaded by the French again...
The Russians are a one-trick pony. Too far away from Russia to be efficiently reinforced, still angered by the British searching their ships in the Baltic, and still discouraged by their loss at Zürich. Sooner or later the Russians will leave and the British will find themselves alone trying to occupy a liberal population that generally looked favourably at the French and their ideas of a republic (not the same as their own old republic, it won't be a glorious return of the old order). Meanwhile they also have to prepare for the inevitable French counterattack, and this time they won't outnumber the French.
